We have built sensory play areas for local hospices, we have completed conservation work at the National Memorial Arboretum, as well as travelled many a mile on bike rides, hikes, and even sponsored skydives, raising thousands of pounds for good causes.

To ensure the support we give has the biggest impact, RBSL has now chosen to focus its fundraising in the following areas:

ENGAGE: We aim to engage with military men and women, and their families, through partnerships with Armed Forces charities.  We have this year selected SSAFA as our main charity partner from 2020.
We also work with agencies to encourage veterans to work with us, and we support initiatives such as the Women in Defence Charter, plus events such as Armed Forces Week. We also sponsor Armed Forces activities such as the Equipment Care Cup – awarded each year to a regiment for high standards of maintenance of their vehicle fleet.

INSPIRE: We invest in the education and skills of young people in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and contribute to the conversations in the professional bodies that our employees are part of, such as the Institution for Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).  We also have several STEM ambassadors within the company who run education events in schools and at our sites.

ENRICH: We aim to build a positive presence and be a valued part of the local communities surrounding RBSL’s sites. This includes being members of local business communities, engaging with SME organisations and encouraging local residents to apply for our job vacancies.
